In Hinduism, every lunar day (*tithi*) holds special significance. Among these, the *Amavasya* (new moon day) occurring each month is of great religious and spiritual importance. There are twelve *Amavasyas* in a year; when this day falls on a Monday, it is known as *Somvati Amavasya*. Mondays are dedicated to the worship of Lord Shiva, while *Amavasya* is considered highly auspicious for honoring ancestors (*Pitrs*), performing *Tarpan* (ritual offerings to ancestors), bathing in the holy Ganges, and making donations. The *Somvati Amavasya* occurring this year is considered particularly fruitful. Let us explore the unique celestial alignments, the worship rituals, and the auspicious timings associated with this day.

**Special Alignments on Somvati Amavasya**
*Somvati Amavasya* holds a special place in Hinduism. This year, several religious and astrological alignments coincide on this day, making it exceptionally auspicious. Notably, this *Somvati Amavasya* coincides with *Adhik Maas* (an extra lunar month) after a gap of three years, adding to its significance. *Adhik Maas* occurs once every three years, and the spiritual merit gained from acts of charity, holy bathing, and worship on an *Amavasya* falling within this month is multiplied manifold. Additionally, *Mithun Sankranti* (the Sun's transition into the Gemini zodiac sign) will also occur on this day. Furthermore, the auspicious *Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga* and *Amrit Siddhi Yoga* will form on June 15th—alignments considered highly propitious in the scriptures. Undertaking tasks during these *Yogas* is believed to yield exceptional results.
