Every mother wants to pack something nutritious in her child's tiffin, yet children invariably prioritize taste above all else. Consequently, the tiffin often returns from school completely untouched.

Today, we bring you a delightful recipe that is not only healthy but also so delicious that your children will be licking their fingers in delight. It is the tasty 'Idli Chaat.' Once you pack this in their tiffin, rest assured—your child will insist on taking it every single day, and the tiffin box will return empty.
What makes this Idli Chaat special?
Often, a few idlis are left over after the morning breakfast at home. You can utilize these leftover idlis to create this magnificent dish. Idlis are made from rice and lentils, making them light on the digestive system and beneficial for one's health. When we incorporate fresh vegetables and tangy-sweet chutneys into it, it transforms into a perfectly balanced and wholesome meal.
Ingredients for Idli Chaat
**Idli:** 4-5 pieces (cut into small cubes)
**Vegetables:** 1 finely chopped onion and 1 tomato
**For Extra Flavor:** A small amount of boiled sweet corn or green peas
**Chutneys & Yogurt:** 2-3 tablespoons of sweetened yogurt (dahi), 1 tablespoon of tamarind chutney, and a drizzle of green chutney
**Spices:** ½ teaspoon of Chaat Masala, a pinch of roasted cumin powder, and a dash of salt
**For Garnish:** Fine savory *sev* (crispy chickpea noodles) and fresh green coriander leaves
**For Light Frying:** 1 teaspoon of ghee or butter
Method for Preparing Idli Chaat
First, add a little ghee or butter to a pan and sauté the chopped idlis until they turn a light golden color. Doing this ensures the idlis become crispy on the outside, adding a wonderful crunch to the chaat.
Now, transfer these crispy idlis into a mixing bowl. Add finely chopped onions, tomatoes, and boiled sweet corn to it. With its colorful array of vegetables, children will find this dish very appealing.
Now, it is time to give it the authentic 'Chaat' touch. Pour a generous amount of well-whipped, sweetened yogurt over it. Next, add some sweet tamarind chutney, followed by a little green chutney. (Since this dish is intended for children, keep the chilies and spiciness to a minimum.)
Now, sprinkle a little chaat masala, roasted cumin powder, and salt over the top. Finally, garnish it with fine savory *sev* and fresh green coriander leaves.

If you are packing this for a morning tiffin, mix the idli thoroughly with the vegetables and spices; however, pack the yogurt and chutneys in a separate small container. This way, when the children open their lunchboxes at school, they can add the chutneys themselves and enjoy the dish while it is still fresh and crisp.
