Sholay to premiere in 4K.
Organizers revealed that "Sholay," one of the most iconic films in the history of Indian cinema, has been recreated in 4K by the Film Heritage Foundation in collaboration with Sippy Films. The film will be screened at the Indian Film Festival of Sydney (IFFS), to be held from October 9th to 11th. It will also be presented by the team from the globally recognized Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM).

"Sholay is more than a film."
Festival Director Mitu Bhowmick Lange expressed her thoughts. She said, "Sholay is more than a film. It is woven into the fabric of Indian storytelling, memory, and myth. Bringing back its climax after so many years is not just about restoring a different final scene, but also about reinventing the makers' perspective. As 'Sholay' celebrates 50 years, we honor cinema's courage to challenge and persevere. We are delighted that Sydney audiences will now see the film the way it was always meant to be seen.
