Today we will tell you the recipe for making a special dish from South India, Medu Vada. It is made by mixing two types of lentils. This vada is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Ingredients

1 cup urad dal

1/4 cup chana dal

2 tsp rice flour

2 green chillies (finely chopped)

3 tbsp dry coconut (finely chopped)

5-6 curry leaves

1 tbsp coriander leaves (chopped)

1 inch ginger (finely chopped)

Pinch of asafoetida

Salt to taste

Oil for frying

Recipe

- First of all wash urad and chana dal thoroughly and soak them in water for about 2-3 hours.

- Now drain all the water from the soaked dal and grind urad and chana dal together in very little water to make a smooth paste.

- Add green coriander, green chilies, ginger, and chopped dry coconut to the batter and mix well.

- Add 2-3 tsp rice flour. Rice flour is added to make it crispy.

- Now heat oil in a pan on medium flame.

- After this, wet your palms and take a lemon-sized batter.

- Make a hole in the middle and put it in hot oil.

- The vada should float on the oil. Fry till it becomes golden brown on both sides.

- Medu vada is ready. Serve with chutney or sambar.
