Date Barfi Recipe
Ingredients Quantity
Dates (pitted) 500 grams
Mixed dry fruits (cashews, almonds, pistachios) 1 cup (finely chopped)
Poppy seeds 2 tablespoons
Pure ghee 2-3 tablespoons
Cardamom powder ½ teaspoon
Instructions
First, remove the seeds from the dates and cut them into small pieces. Now, grind them coarsely in a blender without adding any water.
Next, heat a tablespoon of ghee in a pan. Add the chopped dry fruits and fry them until lightly golden brown, then transfer them to a plate.
Now, dry roast the poppy seeds in the same pan and set them aside.
After that, add the remaining ghee to the pan and add the ground dates. Now, cook it on low heat for 4-5 minutes, stirring continuously until the dates soften and start to come together like a dough. Now add the roasted dry fruits and cardamom powder and mix well so that everything is combined.

Next, grease a plate or tray with ghee. Spread the mixture onto it and sprinkle roasted poppy seeds on top. Gently press with a spoon so that the poppy seeds stick.
Let it cool for 1-2 hours. Once it has set, cut it into your desired shapes with a knife.
