Amidst Diwali and the festive season, India’s leading online food delivery platform, Swiggy, has unveiled a major gift for its users. The company has launched an innovative new feature on its app called 'Multi-Restaurant Ordering.'

**Ordering from Five Restaurants in a Single Payment**
Swiggy has introduced the 'Multi-Restaurant Ordering' feature, allowing customers to select food from up to five different restaurants and place a combined order. Notably, there is no need to create separate carts, go through multiple checkouts, or make individual payments for each restaurant; customers can place all their orders through a single payment transaction.

According to the company, this feature was designed specifically for households or groups where individuals have diverse food preferences. It enables customers to order starters, main courses, and desserts from various restaurants simultaneously.

**Ability to Compare Carts**
The feature also allows users to create multiple carts from different restaurants and compare them side-by-side, making it easier to select preferred dishes. Furthermore, it eliminates the need to repeatedly go through the checkout, OTP verification, and payment process for each separate order.

Swiggy clarified that while each restaurant’s order will be prepared and delivered independently, customers can track the status of all their orders on a single screen—providing a centralized view of all their orders.

**55% of Users Create More Than One Cart**
Consumer research conducted by Swiggy reveals that 55% of users create two carts within a single session. Additionally, one in every five users places a second order within 30 minutes of their first. The company believes this new feature will simplify the experience for customers who often have to place multiple separate orders to accommodate the varying preferences of their group. According to Sidharth Bhakoo, Chief Business Officer at Swiggy, the objective of this feature is to provide customers with greater freedom to choose the food they prefer and to offer a 'food court-like' experience at home.

Available in over 720 cities
The company states that the 'Multi-Restaurant Ordering' feature is available in more than 720 cities across the country. Swiggy anticipates that this feature will prove useful to customers during festivals, long holidays, and family gatherings. However, delivery times may vary when ordering from different restaurants. Through this feature, the company aims to provide customers with more options and a convenient ordering experience.
