Heavy rainfall is expected across several parts of India on Saturday. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rain for the northwest, central, eastern, northeastern, western, and peninsular regions. According to the IMD forecast issued on Friday night, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in many areas, while thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds are anticipated in some parts of the country. The weather department has advised people to exercise caution in areas prone to waterlogging, flooding, and other rain-related issues.

**Rain Expected in North India, Including Delhi-NCR**
In North India, moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, while Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi may also witness heavy rain on Saturday. Heavy rainfall is forecast for isolated places in East Uttar Pradesh and West Rajasthan, with heavy to very heavy rain likely in parts of East Rajasthan. In East India, widespread rainfall is expected in Odisha, Gangetic West Bengal, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim. A warning for very heavy rainfall has been issued for Odisha for August 8, while widespread rain is likely to continue in Bihar.

Adverse weather conditions are also expected in the Northeast. Heavy rainfall is forecast for isolated areas in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, and other northeastern states. In Western India, widespread rainfall is likely in Konkan and Goa, while parts of Maharashtra and Gujarat may also receive rain.

**Heavy Rain Expected in the South Today**
Significant rainfall is also expected across southern and peninsular India. The IMD has forecast heavy rainfall for Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka on August 8, with the possibility of very heavy rain in some areas. Thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds are also likely in parts of Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh. Due to the inclement weather, the IMD has warned fishermen against venturing into several sea areas, including the coasts of Oman, Karnataka, and Kerala.

 Delhi Reels Under Friday's Rain
Meanwhile, Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) witnessed torrential rain on Friday, leading to waterlogged roads, traffic disruptions, and numerous emergency incidents across the area. Severe waterlogging was observed on South Delhi's MB Road—particularly near the Air Force Station—where water levels reportedly reached nearly four feet, trapping vehicles and causing major traffic snarls. Reports indicate that several motorcycles and auto-rickshaws stalled after entering waterlogged stretches, while Air Force trucks were deployed to assist with movement in some submerged areas.

Traffic remained sluggish on several key routes, including ITO, Patel Road, Rohtak Road, Wazirabad Road, Kirti Nagar, Shaheen Bagh, the Delhi-Jaipur Highway, and the vicinity of the Badarpur Border Metro Station. Water-filled subways and submerged roads further compounded the difficulties faced by commuters.
