During the event, Rekha also sang a few lines from the famous song 'Dil Cheez Kya Hai' from her iconic film 'Umrao Jaan'. Speaking about her film 'Umrao Jaan', Rekha said, "Come and watch films every day. They are the greatest source of solace. I myself am living proof of this."

Remembering her mother, actress Pushpavalli, Rekha said, "My mother always used to say, 'Don't talk too much about your success and emotions. Set an example by living a good life, not by telling people. People will learn on their own what to do and what not to do.'"

About 'Umrao Jaan'
'Umrao Jaan' is a film based on the famous Urdu novel 'Umrao Jaan Ada' from 1899. In that film, Rekha played the role of a courtesan and poetess from Lucknow. This film is one of the most memorable and classic films of Rekha's entire career.
