Remedies for Surya Dosha (Solar Affliction) on Kanya Sankranti 2026
On the occasion of Kanya Sankranti, take a holy bath during the *Maha-Punya Kaal* (the most auspicious period) to alleviate any *Surya Dosha* present in your horoscope. Afterward, offer water to your ancestors (*Pitris*). Then, clad in clean clothes, offer *Arghya* (ritual water offering) to the Sun God. Fill a vessel with water, add red flowers, red sandalwood paste, and a little jaggery to it, and offer it to Lord Bhaskar while chanting the mantra "Om Surya Devaya Namah." Follow this by reciting the *Aditya Hridaya Stotra* and performing the *Aarti*. With the grace of the Sun God, your endeavors will meet with success.

To harness the auspicious influence of the Sun on Kanya Sankranti, donate items associated with the Sun. Depending on your capacity, you may donate jaggery, wheat, red sandalwood, red clothing, red flowers, copper vessels, etc., to a Brahmin.

In addition to these two simple yet effective remedies, you may chant the Sun God's *Beej Mantra*—"Om Ghrinih Suryaya Namah"—using a rosary made of red sandalwood beads or *Rudraksha* beads.

If you prefer not to perform any of the above rituals, simply serve your parents and the elders in your household on the occasion of Kanya Sankranti. Seek blessings by serving a father-figure; doing so will lead to your progress and prosperity.
