Junaid Khan: After the failure of 'Ek Din', son Junaid does not want to work with Aamir Khan...

Despite Aamir Khan's best efforts, his son Junaid Khan's film, *Ek Din*, failed to make a significant impact at the box office. South Indian actress Sai Pallavi starred alongside Junaid in the movie. The film was embroiled in controversy even before its release.

**The Trailer Did Not Resonate with Audiences**
When *Ek Din* was finally released, audiences showed little interest in the storyline, as it bore a strong resemblance to narratives they had seen many times before. Even at the time of the trailer's release, numerous users took to the comments section to remark that the trailer had essentially given away the entire plot of the movie.

Meanwhile, the younger Khan has learned from his mistakes and has now opened up about the failure of his film.

**Junaid Has No Regrets**
Junaid Khan recently appeared on Vicky Lalwani's YouTube channel, where he discussed the failure of *Ek Din* and his father Aamir Khan's reaction to it. The actor stated that he has absolutely no regrets regarding the film's failure; he thoroughly enjoyed the process of making it. Both Junaid and Aamir Khan had high hopes for the project, but acknowledged that sometimes things simply do not go according to plan—a reality with which they are perfectly at peace.

During the same interview, Junaid Khan was asked whether he would work with Aamir Khan as a producer again. His response was unequivocal: "No, because I already made that mistake with *Ek Din*."

**Aamir Khan Loved the Story**
He further explained, "I thought to myself, 'Okay, should I get a second opinion from Dad? I really love the story, but perhaps I should get his take on it as well.' So, I arranged for a narration session. And when the narration took place, Dad absolutely loved it. He said, 'Siddharth, let me produce this.' Suddenly, he declared, 'I want to make this film. I love it—sell it to me! Finally, I’m getting the chance to make a film for my own son; everyone else seems to be making films for him.' He made that decision in a moment of pure emotion." He further added, “I think he is a fantastic producer, especially for a film like *Ek Din*. But the reality is that it takes five years to make a film. Aamir Khan Productions (AKP) is a major production banner; it takes time.

He liked it, he would say, ‘I’ll produce it,’ and then my film would come out five years later. Which is great for him. He is at a stage in his career where he can do one film every five years—perhaps I’m exaggerating a little. But I am just starting. I need to work continuously. Dad is now eager to do another film with me, but I tell him, ‘In a little while.’”

*Ek Din* was released in theaters on May 1, 2026. It was directed by Sunil Pandey.
