IIFA was originally scheduled for 2026
IIFA was initially planned for August–September 2026, but the dates were postponed as preparations were not complete. Prior to this, the 2025 IIFA event was held in Jaipur. That event was hosted by filmmaker Karan Johar and actor Kartik Aaryan. At the 2025 IIFA Awards, the Kiran Rao-directed film *Laapataa Ladies* won 10 awards across various categories.

Aamir Khan's *3 Idiots* and the film *Devdas* each won 16 awards at a single ceremony.

What is the history of IIFA?
The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards were launched in the year 2000. The inaugural IIFA event was held on June 24, 2000. At this event, the film *Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam*—starring Ajay Devgn, Aishwarya Rai, and Salman Khan—was named Best Film.
