Two children of an Army officer were kidnapped in Delhi and subsequently brutally murdered. This heinous crime was committed by the notorious criminals Ranga and Billa; the incident is famously known as the Ranga-Billa case.

Sharing a post about the series, Karan Johar wrote, "I was trying to take a break from Instagram for a while. I thought I had succeeded, but then I watched this heart-wrenching series and felt the need to speak up. It is currently 1:35 AM, and I am deeply disturbed after watching the final episode. As a parent, a human being, and a member of society, I am troubled."

Karan further wrote, "The series 'Raakh' portrays the darkest side of humanity. Succumbing to the inner demon—whether due to childhood trauma or any other reason—cannot be justified. Karan Johar further writes, "I cannot get the performances of Sonali Bendre and Aamir Bashir out of my mind. Their acting as grieving parents facing a massive tragedy left me awestruck. They completely immersed themselves in their roles. Kudos to their performances. You have to watch their acting to truly understand what I felt while watching this heart-touching show. They are amazing. Congratulations to Ali Fazal for his excellent and powerful work." Additionally, Karan congratulated the entire team for this brilliant series.
