Gold Price Today: Gold Extends Decline; 22-Carat Rate Drops to ₹1,32,440 in Delhi, Jaipur and Lucknow

Gold Price Today: Gold prices continued to soften on July 25, with 22-carat gold slipping to ₹1,32,440 per 10 grams in Delhi, Jaipur, and Lucknow. Silver also remained under pressure in the domestic market, while international bullion prices showed mixed movement. Here are the latest city-wise gold and silver rates and the factors influencing today's market.

Gold Prices Decline Further in the Domestic Market

Gold prices moved lower across major Indian cities on July 25, extending the recent downward trend in the bullion market. Weak buying sentiment in the domestic market, coupled with changing global cues, continued to weigh on prices.

In the national capital, the price of 24-carat gold declined to ₹1,44,470 per 10 grams, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹1,32,440 per 10 grams.

During the previous trading session, Delhi's bullion market had already witnessed a sharp correction, with the price of 99.9% pure gold falling by ₹2,000 per 10 grams. The latest decline reflects continued caution among buyers despite fluctuations in international markets.

International Gold Market Remains Firm

Globally, spot gold was trading at around $4,052.78 per ounce.

Market analysts said international gold prices received some support after Brent crude oil prices remained below $100 per barrel, although domestic gold prices continued to face pressure due to softer local demand.

Apart from global bullion trends, gold prices in India are also influenced by currency movements, import costs, taxes, and seasonal demand.

What Drives Gold and Silver Prices?

The prices of gold and silver in India are influenced by several domestic and global factors, including:

  • International gold and silver prices.
  • Movement in crude oil prices.
  • The exchange rate between the Indian rupee and the US dollar.
  • Import duties and government taxes.
  • Domestic demand during festivals and wedding seasons.
  • Global economic conditions and geopolitical developments.
  • Central bank policies and inflation expectations.

A combination of these factors determines the daily movement in precious metal prices across the country.

Should Buyers Purchase Gold Now?

With gold prices witnessing a fresh correction, buyers planning to purchase jewellery, coins, or investment-grade bullion may find the current levels worth monitoring. However, prices can continue to fluctuate based on international market developments, domestic demand, and currency movements.

Before making a purchase, it is advisable to compare city-wise rates, check the purity of the gold, and consider additional charges such as making charges and applicable taxes to make an informed investment decision.
