Fruit recipes for fasting: If you are bored of eating plain fruits daily during Navratri or any other religious fast, try making something new and delicious with them this time. Fruits like apples, bananas, pomegranates, papayas, and grapes are not only tasty but also provide the body with essential nutrients. Dishes made from these fruits can make your fasting meal special. Here are five easy fruit-based recipes.

These easy recipes will add variety to your meals during the fast. Please note that fasting rules can vary, so keep your specific traditions in mind when selecting ingredients.

Fruit Chaat

Chop apples, bananas, pomegranates, and papayas into small pieces. Mix them together with rock salt (*sendha namak*) and spices permitted during the fast.

Fruit Raita

Mix chopped fruits into fresh, thick yogurt. You can add a little sugar or honey for sweetness. Also, mix in rock salt, roasted cumin powder, and cardamom powder. Garnish with coriander leaves.

Banana Shake

Blend bananas with milk. You can add honey or sugar for sweetness; however, since bananas are naturally sweet, keep the quantity of added sweetener low. You can also add some almonds if you wish.

Fruit Smoothie

Combine your favorite fruits—such as bananas, apples, grapes, papayas, or strawberries—with a cup of milk. You can also use coconut water or fruit juice. Add yogurt for thickness. Blend everything in a mixer at high speed for 30 to 60 seconds until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy. Serve in a glass and garnish with chopped dry fruits.

Fruit Yogurt Bowl

This can be prepared quickly in just 2 to 3 minutes. Mix a teaspoon of honey into a cup of fresh, thick yogurt. Add chopped banana, pomegranate seeds, apple, grapes, strawberries, or any other seasonal fruits of your choice. Garnish with chopped nuts.
