Newborn Care Tips: It's natural to be excited about meeting a new baby at the home of family, relatives, or acquaintances, but don't let this excitement put the baby at risk. Meeting a newborn is not just a formal visit; it's also about wishing for the health of a delicate life. People rush to see the little one's smile, but they sometimes make careless mistakes that can seriously affect the baby's health. So, when you visit a newborn, prioritize responsibility over emotions.

Newborns have very weak immune systems. Even a mild infection can be serious for them. Therefore, visitors should follow some basic but crucial rules.
What to do when visiting a newborn:
Wash your hands before visiting
Clean your hands with soap or hand sanitizer before touching the baby.
Remember, even hands that look clean can carry germs.
Only visit if you are healthy.
If you have a cold, cough, fever, or sore throat, postpone your visit.
Affection can be shown later; infection cannot.
Keep the visit short.
Both the newborn and the mother need rest.
A quiet 10-15 minute visit is sufficient.
Be mindful of the mother's health and feelings
Don't bombard the mother with questions.
A simple "How are you feeling?" is enough.
Offer help
Don't go empty-handed; offer your time and support.
Warming up food or making tea is true care.
What not to do when visiting a newborn:
Don't insist on kissing the baby.
Kissing a newborn may seem affectionate, but it can be the biggest cause of infection.
Don't hold the baby too much
Everyone wants to hold the baby,
But a newborn is not a toy; they need peace.
Don't take photos with your mobile phone.
Flash photography can harm the baby's eyes. And not every moment is meant for social media.
Don't give unsolicited advice.
Statements starting with "In our time..." stress out the mother.
Every child is different, and every mother is new to motherhood.

Don't bring gifts without asking.
Some gifts might be useless for the baby or the mother.
Asking about their needs is a sign of respect.
