Ingredients for making tomato chaat
First of all, wash the tomatoes and cut them into small pieces. Mash the boiled potatoes as well.
Now, heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and asafoetida to it. When the cumin seeds start crackling, add ginger-garlic paste and green chillies and fry.
After this, add chopped tomatoes and mix well. Cover and cook on a low flame till the tomatoes melt.
When the tomatoes melt completely, add turmeric, coriander, red chilli, and garam masala, and mix well and fry for 1-2 minutes.
Now add mashed potatoes and boiled peas. Mix them well with the tomato masala.

Add grated cheese and salt and mix. If you like the chaat a little sweet, you can also add tomato sauce.
Let this mixture cook on a low flame for 2-3 minutes, so that all the spices mix well.
Finally, add lemon juice and green coriander and mix and turn off the gas.
Serve like this
Take out the tomato chaat hot in a bowl. Garnish with finely chopped onion, sev or papdi and some green coriander on top. Keep a slice of lemon with you so that those who like it more sour can add lemon juice on top.
