Ingredients

Semolina – 1 cup
Gram flour – 1 cup
Onion – 1
Tomato – 1
Carrot – 1
Curry leaves – 8-10
Chopped coriander leaves – 1/4 cup
Chopped green chili – 1 tsp
Turmeric – 1/4 tsp
Red chili powder – 1/2 tsp
Mustard seeds – 1/2 tsp
Asafoetida – 1 pinch
Oil – as per requirement
Salt – as per taste

Recipe

- First of all, cut the onion, tomato, and carrot into fine pieces. Now add gram flour and semolina to a big bowl and mix.

- Now prepare the batter by adding water little by little. After this, add turmeric and red chili powder to the batter and mix.

- Then add finely chopped onion, tomato and carrot to the batter and mix well. Now take a pan and heat it by adding one spoon of oil in it.

- After the oil is heated, add curry leaves and mustard seeds and fry them. After some time, add a pinch of asafoetida and green chillies and fry them.

- After this, put the prepared semolina-gram flour batter in the pan and cook. Cook the batter on medium flame until it thickens.

- When the mixture starts leaving the pan, turn off the gas and let it cool. Now apply oil on your hands and take the mixture little by little and make tikkis and keep them aside in a plate.

- After this, take a non-stick pan and heat it on medium flame. After the pan is heated, spread some oil on it and keep 4-5 tikkis for frying.

- After frying the tikki for some time, turn it over and pour some oil around it. Fry the tikkis until they become crispy and golden on both sides.

- After this, take them out in a plate. Prepare all the tikkis in the same way. Serve them with green chutney or tomato sauce.
