Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, in which Muslims observe fast. During the fast, food and drink are avoided from morning to evening. During this time, Sehri (Sahur) and Iftar have special importance. Sehri is the meal that is taken before sunrise. It is done before Fajr (morning prayer) so that energy is maintained throughout the day. Sehri should be light and full of nutrition so that the body remains hydrated and there is no fatigue throughout the day.

Here are some quick and delicious recipes, which are full of energy and easy to make.
Iftar Recipes
1. Fruit Chaat
Full of refreshment and great for digestion
Ingredients:
1 cup chopped fruits (apple, banana, pomegranate, orange, papaya)
1 tsp black salt
1 tsp chaat masala
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tbsp honey
Method:
Mix all the fruits and add chaat masala, black salt, and lemon juice on top. Mix well and serve chilled.
2. Chana Chaat
Protein-rich, light, and delicious
Ingredients:
1 cup boiled chickpeas
1 finely chopped tomato
1 finely chopped onion
1 green chilli finely chopped
1 tsp lemon juice
½ tsp chaat masala
1 tbsp coriander leaves
Method:
Mix all the ingredients and enjoy chilled.
3. Date Milk Shake
Instant energy drink for breaking the fast
Ingredients:
5-6 dates (seeded)
1 glass of chilled milk
1 tsp honey
2-3 almonds (optional)
Method:
Put all the ingredients in a blender grind well and serve chilled.
Sehri Recipes
1. Oats Banana Smoothie
Rich in fiber and energy
Ingredients:
½ cup oats
1 banana
1 glass milk
1 tsp honey
1 tsp chia seeds (optional)
Method:
Blend all the ingredients and drink immediately.
2. Paneer Paratha
A filling and healthy option for Sehri
Ingredients:
1 cup wheat flour
½ cup grated paneer
1 tsp coriander leaves
½ tsp salt
1 tsp cumin seeds
Ghee or oil (for frying)
Method:
Add some water to the flour and knead it till it becomes soft.
Prepare the stuffing by mixing spices and coriander in paneer.
Make dough balls, fill them with stuffing, and roll them.
Apply ghee on the pan and fry till it turns golden.
