Astrologer Anand Bhardwaj said that a child's name has a direct impact on their destiny and future. Every name carries a specific meaning and energy within it. If the meaning of the name is positive, it has a beneficial effect on the child's life.

In Indian culture, naming a child is not merely a formal process but a sacred ritual. In astrology, it is called the Namkaran Sanskar (naming ceremony). It is believed that a person's name profoundly influences their nature, personality, and future. This is why, from ancient times to the present day, people have carefully chosen names for their children.
It is often observed that parents name their children after sacred names like Rama, Lakshmana, Bharata, or Sita, but avoid names associated with evil characters like Kansa, Ravana, or others with negative connotations. There is a deep religious and spiritual basis behind this. It is believed that the sound and meaning of a name transmit energy into a person's life.
According to renowned astrologer Anand Bhardwaj from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, a child's name directly affects their destiny and future. Every name carries a specific meaning and energy. If the meaning of the name is positive, it has a beneficial effect on the child's life.
Conversely, a name with a negative meaning can create obstacles in life. The astrologer says that a name should not be chosen merely to be unique or attractive. The name should be meaningful, auspicious, and full of positive energy. Names that evoke negative feelings or have unclear meanings should be avoided.
According to the scriptures, a child's name should be short, simple, and meaningful. The birth constellation also plays a significant role in the naming ceremony. A name chosen according to the constellation brings balance and success to the child's life. Furthermore, it is considered essential to consider the lineage and clan to avoid any religious or social obstacles in the future.
Religious texts such as the Ramcharitmanas and Sundarkand contain many examples related to names and their effects. In one instance, Mother Sita is depicted sitting under an Ashoka tree and saying, "Satya nama karu harumam shoka." Here, Ashoka means "that which destroys sorrow." Similarly, the moon is referred to by two names, Shashi and Mayank. In one context, Shashi is associated with a blemish, which is why many scholars advise against using this name.
Acharya Bharadwaj of Ujjain says that children should always be given names that symbolize virtue, positivity, and a bright future. Names associated with demonic tendencies or evil characters, such as Kansa, Ravana, or their synonyms, should never be given to children. Such names can unknowingly lead a child towards negative thinking and a wrong path.
