Ingredients

2 cups makhana

Half a cup of almonds

1 cup sugar

1 teaspoon ghee

1 teaspoon cardamom

Pinch of saffron

Pieces of pistachio

Some leaves of rose petals

Method

- First of all, turn on the gas and roast makhana-almonds well in one teaspoon of ghee. You can also use more ghee.

- After they turn brown, take them out in a vessel and, after they cool down, grind both the ingredients coarsely in a mixer.

- Now, put milk in a large pan on a gas stove and boil it well. When the milk boils, add one teaspoon of cardamom and a pinch of saffron to it.

- Now add coarsely ground makhana and almonds to it. Cook them on a slow flame. Cooking on a slow flame makes kheer tasty.

- After some time add sugar to it as well. Cook them until the milk thickens. When makhana and almonds melt and mix well in the milk, turn off the gas.

- Now add pistachio pieces and some rose petals on top for garnishing. Makhana almond kheer is ready. Serve it hot.
