Often you must have seen that some children are left-handed, that is, they like to do all the daily work with their left hand. This is a natural part of their privacy and also a normal process. But many parents worry that this may hinder the development of the child or that society will not accept it. Due to this, they force the children to eat, hold things, and write with the right hand, which is wrong.

More boys than girls
There are some genetic reasons behind children being left-handed, along with low birth weight is also a big reason for this. According to the meta-analysis and brain laterality study done on 144 children, boys are more left-handed than girls. In many cases, children become left-handed by looking at their parents or a person of their choice. At the same time, learning and social environment also play an important role in being left-handed, because some children use one hand more in the learning process and become right or left-handed.
How much of a worry
If the child does all the work with the left hand, then it is normal and there is no need to worry. Being left-handed is just a personal characteristic and if the child's physical and mental development is normal and he is not facing any other problem, then you do not need to worry much about it. But if you see attention or other developmental problems in the child, then you should consult a specialist regarding the child's development process.
Sharp intelligence
It is believed that left-handed children are very sharp-minded. They are very intelligent in music and mathematics subjects. This is because they use the right hemisphere of the brain, where all the creative centers are present. Also, their memory is very good, because both their hemispheres are well connected.
Special upbringing
Since such children are very creative, so you should know their interests and encourage them. Do not force them to use the right hand instead of the left. This can affect the neural circuitry of the child and later on, they are not able to use either of the hands properly.

Full of creativity
Dr. Nausheen Siddiqui, Senior Resident, Department of Pediatrics, Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital, Delhi, says, 90 percent of the population is right-handed and only 10 percent are left-handed. Being right or left-handed depends on genetics, while environmental factors also play an important role in it. The left hemisphere of the brain is related to speech and language and the right hemisphere is non-dominant. But in left-handed people, it is the opposite (the right hemisphere is dominant), so they are creative. Left-handed children get social acceptance, so parents do not need to worry. But sometimes it can be related to autism and other behavioral and psychological disorders, for which you should consult a pediatrician.
