Just imagine a place where, wherever you cast your gaze, you see nothing but a vast expanse of colorful blooming flowers. Picture a gentle, sweet fragrance in the air and snow-capped mountains in the background, making the entire landscape look like a painting.

Yes, the world knows this place in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand as the 'Valley of Flowers.' If you wish to take a break from the city's hustle and bustle and spend some time in tranquility, you simply shouldn't miss this 6-day trek offered by IRCTC. Let’s dive into the essential details without delay.
**6-Day 'Valley of Flowers' Trek**
The 'Valley of Flowers' trek, scheduled for August and September, spans six days. It involves a total trekking distance of approximately 37 kilometers. The trek reaches a maximum altitude of around 14,100 feet and is rated as 'easy to moderate' in terms of difficulty.
**A-to-Z Trip Details**
Your journey begins at 6:00 AM from the Back Stage Hotel in Tapovan, Rishikesh. On the first day, after a pleasant 9-to-10-hour road trip, you will arrive at Pipalkoti, situated at an altitude of 1,340 meters. A cloakroom facility is available here to store any extra luggage.
The following day, after driving to Govindghat and Pulna, your actual trek on foot begins. You will trek 9 kilometers to reach Ghangaria, which will serve as your base for the next few days.
Day three brings the moment you’ve been waiting for—witnessing the Valley of Flowers itself. Here, you will be welcomed by magnificent blooms such as the Himalayan Rose, Blue Poppy, Dog Flower, and River Anemone. On the fourth day, you will undertake the serene and spiritual climb to the sacred Hemkund Sahib.
The return journey from Ghangaria takes place on the fifth day. The best part is that you will also get the opportunity to visit Badrinath Dham en route at no extra cost. You will be dropped back in Rishikesh between 6:30 PM and 7:30 PM on the sixth day.
Please note that mountain weather can be unpredictable; therefore, ensure you keep one buffer day in your itinerary. Book your return train or flight for a time after 8:00 PM on the sixth day.
