In a way, this dish can be considered a complete package. All the members of the house will be happy to get this delicious thing for breakfast. It is very easy to make. Ingredients

Jowar flour – 1 cup
Onion finely chopped – 1/2 cup
Semolina – 1/2 cup
Green peas boiled – 1/2 cup (optional)
Green chilli paste – 2 tsp
Chopped coriander leaves – 2 tbsp
Asafoetida – 1-2 pinches
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp
Urad dal – 1 tsp
Curry leaves chopped – 8-10
Lemon – 1
Oil – 1-2 tbsp
Salt – as per taste

Method

- First of all, finely chop the onion and curry leaves. After this, boil the peas.

- Now heat oil in a pan. When the oil is hot, add mustard seeds and urad dal and fry for a few seconds.

- When the mustard seeds start crackling, add curry leaves and asafoetida and fry for a few more seconds while stirring with a spoon.

- After this, put the onion in the pan and roast it for 1 minute. When the onion becomes soft, add semolina to it and mix with a spoon, and fry on medium flame.

- After this, add jowar flour, mix, and fry for 2 minutes while stirring.

- After this, add green chilli paste, peas, coriander leaves and salt and cook while mixing.

- Now add 3 cups (as per requirement) of water in the pan and mix while stirring.

- After this, let the upma cook for 2-3 minutes on medium flame. Finally, add lemon juice and turn off the gas. Jowar upma is ready.
