To perform this puja, women take a bath wear clean clothes, and go to the Holi site with the puja material. There, Holika is first cooled by offering water. After this, roli, rice, turmeric, flowers, and garlands of Gulri made from cow dung are offered. Then raw thread is wrapped around Holika and coconut is offered. After this, women offer jaggery, gram and wheat ears. These earrings are brought home after Holika Dahan, as it is considered auspicious and brings happiness and prosperity. After this, women perform parikrama and light lamps and pray for the safety and prosperity of their families. Finally, the puja is concluded by distributing sweets and prasad.
