Sharadiya Navratri holds special significance in Sanatan Dharma. This festival is considered highly auspicious for the worship of Goddess Durga and the veneration of *Shakti* (divine power). During the nine days of Navratri, the nine forms of Goddess Durga are worshipped with prescribed rituals. Devotees observe fasts, perform prayers, and undertake special measures to fulfill their wishes. According to religious beliefs, worship and spiritual practice undertaken with a sincere heart during Navratri bring mental peace and positive energy to the individual.

According to Pandit Kalki Ram, an astrologer from Ayodhya, worshipping Goddess Adishakti Jagdamba during Navratri is of immense importance. Several religious beliefs surround the worship of the Goddess and the unique planetary alignments that occur during this period. It is believed that worshipping with devotion and faith during these holy days grants the strength to overcome life's challenges. This year, the extension of the *Ashtami Tithi* (the eighth day of the lunar fortnight) is also considered religiously significant. It is believed that worshipping the *Dash Mahavidyas* (the ten forms of the Divine Mother) alongside Goddess Durga on this occasion can yield auspicious results.
**A Special Remedy Involving Rice During Navratri**
Pandit Kalki Ram explains that a special remedy involving rice can be performed during Navratri to seek the blessings of the Goddess. According to religious belief, by performing this remedy with complete devotion, concentration, and adherence to the rules, devotees can place their wishes before Goddess Bhagwati. This remedy involves the use of 108 grains of whole rice. During the ritual, one chants the mantra of Goddess Durga while mentally repeating one's wish.
**How to Perform the Remedy**
After completing your morning or evening ablutions, wear clean clothes. Next, clean the place of worship and sit before the idol or picture of Goddess Durga. Take unbroken grains of Basmati rice. Then, place a clean bowl—made of glass, steel, brass, or any other metal—in front of the Goddess's idol. Carefully count out 108 whole grains of rice and place them in the vessel. Light a mustard oil lamp on the left side of Goddess Bhagwati and a ghee lamp on the right side. While lighting the lamps, meditate on Goddess Durga and hold your wish in your mind. Exercise caution with the flame and place the lamps in a safe spot.

**Chant this mantra**
Pandit Kalki Ram explained that you should now take the rice grains one by one in your hand and chant the mantra ‘Om Dum Durgayai Namah’. As you chant, recall your wish and place each grain into the bowl. Throughout this process, keep your mind calm and maintain your devotion to Goddess Durga. Performing this ritual during Navratri ensures the special grace of the Goddess and paves the way for progress in life.
