Ingredients for making coconut barfi

Freshly grated coconut – 2 cups

Condensed milk – 1 cup

Desi ghee – 1 tablespoon

Cardamom powder – ½ teaspoon

Chopped dry fruits – almonds, cashews

Silver foil

Method

Making coconut barfi at home is very easy. The special thing is that it is fruit-free, so you can easily consume it during fasting, and it can also be consumed at the time of breaking the fast.

To prepare it, first heat a heavy-bottomed pan and then add 1 tablespoon of ghee to it. When the ghee is hot, add grated coconut to it and fry it on a low flame for 3-4 minutes so that the rawness of the coconut goes away.

When its rawness goes away, add condensed milk to it and mix well. Now keep stirring it for at least 15 minutes. By stirring continuously, it will stop sticking to the pan. When the mixture starts leaving the pan, add cardamom powder and chopped dry fruits and mix well.

Now, finally, apply ghee on a plate or tray and spread the mixture in it, make it smooth. When it cools down, cut the barfi in the desired shape. You can also apply silver foil on it at the end.
