Dhanteras Special: Make market-like Motichoor Laddus at home, follow this easy method..

Dhanteras Motichoor Ladoos Recipe: Dhanteras marks the first day of Diwali. Dhanteras holds religious significance. Goddess Lakshmi, Lord Dhanvantari, and Kubera are worshipped on Dhanteras. Ganesh and Lakshmi are then worshipped on Diwali. Pure offerings are essential for all worship. However, it's better to prepare homemade offerings using simple methods than to buy adulterated sweets from the market. Since this festival is a festival of happiness, light, and sweetness, making Motichoor Laddoo at home on Dhanteras will enhance the festivities.

Make these laddus because Motichoor Laddoos are considered auspicious in the worship of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Ganesha from Dhanteras to Diwali. This sweet symbolizes prosperity, good fortune, and joy. Making laddus like the ones sold at home isn't difficult. All you need is the right method and a little patience. Let's learn the easy recipe for Motichoor Laddoo.

Ingredients for Motichoor Laddu

Gram flour - 2 cups
Ghee - for frying
Water - as needed
Sugar - 1 cup
Saffron or orange food coloring - 1 pinch
Cardamom powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Chopped dry fruits like almonds and pistachios for garnishing
Silver foil - as desired

Method for making Motichoor Laddu

Step 1

In the first step, prepare the gram flour batter. For this, take the gram flour in a large bowl and gradually add water to make a thin batter. Be careful not to form lumps. Add the food coloring and mix well.

Step 2

Now, to make the boondi, heat ghee in a pan. Pour a small amount of gram flour batter onto a slotted spoon and fry the boondi. Make sure the boondi is not too crisp; just slightly soft.

Step 3

Next, prepare the syrup. For this, add sugar and half a cup of water to a pan and cook until the syrup becomes a one-string consistency. Add saffron and cardamom powder.

Step 4

Now, add the boondi to the hot syrup and mix well so that every grain becomes sweet. Cover and let it sit for five to seven minutes so that the boondi absorbs the syrup.

Step 5

When the mixture cools slightly, shape it into laddus with your palms. Top with chopped dry fruits and silver foil.

Step 6

Keep the laddus in the open for about an hour or two so that they set properly. Now, the Dhanteras special Motichoor laddus are ready.
