Ingredients

Brown rice – 250 grams
Onion (cut into slices) – 2
Cloves – 2
Cardamom – 2
Cinnamon – 1 piece
Sugar – 2 tsp
Black pepper – 5-6
Oil – 1 tsp
Salt – according to taste

Method

- First of all, clean them and then soak them in water for at least 3 hours. After the stipulated time, put oil in a pan and keep it heating.

- When the oil is hot, add the onion to it and then fry it on medium flame for 1-2 minutes. After this, add sugar to the onion and mix it.

- Fry the onion till its color becomes golden brown. Now add a little water to the onion mixture.

- After this, add black pepper, cloves, cardamom, cinnamon and salt according to taste and mix it while stirring with the help of a ladle.

- After cooking for some time, add more water as required and wait for it to boil.

- When the water starts boiling, add the soaked rice and let it cook on a low flame. Now cook the rice on a low flame for 10-15 minutes.

- During this, keep checking the condition of the rice from time to time. When the rice is cooked, turn off the gas. Healthy brown rice is ready.
