Breastfeeding Mistakes: Most new moms make these 5 dangerous mistakes during breast feeding..

Common Breastfeeding Mistakes: If you are a mother and are breastfeeding right now, then this is very important for you. Actually, breastfeeding is the best food for the child and also deepens the mother-child relationship. But sometimes due to small mistakes, the child does not get the full benefit, which can affect their health and growth. Dr. Puneet Anand (Pediatrician) says that new moms should avoid these 5 common mistakes. So let's know what those things are, by adopting which both you and your child remain happy and healthy.

New moms should not make such mistakes-

Skip night feed-
If you are a mother and are breastfeeding right now, then definitely keep these things in mind. Many times, mothers stop feeding the child at night so that they can get rest, but this is a mistake. Actually, more prolactin hormone is produced in the body at night, which helps in making milk. Therefore, night feed should not be skipped at all; otherwise, the milk supply may decrease.

Not giving colostrum to the baby-
The yellow milk that comes immediately after birth is called colostrum. This is the first vaccine for the baby because it contains antibodies that protect him from diseases. Many times mothers inadvertently remove it or do not give it to the child, which is not right. Do give colostrum after birth, it is very important for the child.

Giving a bottle or a pacifier too early-
Some mothers start giving a bottle or pacifier too early, which can be wrong. This can cause difficulty in the child drinking milk from the mother's breast, because the child becomes a victim of nipple confusion due to the bottle or pacifier. Therefore, give only mother's milk to the child for at least six weeks and avoid giving a bottle or pacifier.

Considering every cry as a sign of hunger-
If newborn babies cry every time, it does not necessarily mean that they are hungry. Sometimes babies cry just for affection, love, or comfort. Considering every cry as hunger and feeding the baby repeatedly can make the baby overeat, and the mother can also get tired. Therefore, understand the needs of the baby and whenever required, take him in your arms and calm him down.

Feeding from only one breast-
Often mothers feed the baby from only one breast, due to which the milk supply increases on one side and decreases on the other. The baby should be fed from both breasts so that the quantity of milk remains balanced and both breasts remain healthy. This is also good for the baby.

By avoiding these five common mistakes, you can give your baby the right nutrition and make the breastfeeding experience pleasant. Remember, do not skip the night feed, definitely give colostrum, start using a bottle or pacifier slowly, do not consider every cry of the baby as hunger and feed from both breasts. If there is any problem, then definitely contact a doctor or lactation consultant. Because a healthy mother and a healthy child are the biggest gifts!
