McCluskieganj is situated just a short distance from Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. In addition to this, there is Patratu village; furthermore, alongside Ara village, lies Taimara village. All these villages transform into favorite summer getaways for people. As you make your way there, you will encounter incredibly beautiful roads, flanked on both sides by trees, hills, forests, and waterfalls—offering a complete natural panorama.

The area boasts a succession of picnic spots, each more impressive than the last. All these villages are nestled amidst dense forests. As you travel along the routes leading to these villages, you will encounter impeccably smooth roads lined on both sides by towering Sal trees; the setting is so distinct that you won't even feel like you are in Ranchi. Instead, you will feel as though you have been transported to the Himalayan region—perhaps an even more beautiful version of it—for here, not even a single discarded wrapper is to be seen.
In fact, here you will discover a heart-shaped valley and witness the winding "Jalebi Road." You will also come across beautiful lakes where you can enjoy boating; the surrounding area offers ample open space where you can comfortably spread out a mat and enjoy a picnic. Visitors often draw water directly from the lake to cook chicken and mutton dishes. If you prefer to bring your own ingredients from home, that is fine; otherwise, you can easily purchase freshly prepared local meals right there.
The temperature here remains consistently 10 degrees lower than that of the city. It features wide-open fields and a cool, gentle breeze. In McCluskieganj specifically, you will find a variety of resorts to choose from. You can secure an excellent room for as little as ₹1,000—some even come equipped with swimming pools. The area is also home to the Degadegi River, a popular spot where people go for a swim and to witness breathtaking sunset views.

If you are a nature lover with a penchant for adventure, you can easily navigate your way here using Google Maps by simply entering the name of any one of these villages. The entire route consists of paved roads, ensuring a hassle-free journey. Furthermore, excellent arrangements for both accommodation and dining are available across all these villages.
