Shardiye Navratri 2026: Shardiye Navratri begins on October 11, 2026. This nine-day festival holds great significance for devotees. It is believed that during Navratri, the Goddess descends to Earth and bestows special blessings upon her devotees. To celebrate her arrival, puja pandals are decorated across the country, and the Goddess is worshipped with great grandeur. Tradition holds that the worship of the Goddess during Shardiye Navratri should be performed according to prescribed rituals using complete and pure *puja samagri* (worship materials). Doing so pleases the Goddess and grants devotees their heart's desires. Let us now look at the items required for Navratri worship.

Navratri Puja Materials
Keep a *lota* (vessel), water, *Gangajal* (holy water from the Ganges), *Mauli* (sacred red thread), betel nuts, *Durva* grass, and a *Jata* coconut (coconut with the husk/fiber intact).
Obtain a new red *Chunri* (sacred veil) and clothing. Also, keep adornment items such as a nose ring, *Gajra* (flower garland for hair), *Maang Tika* (forehead ornament), earrings, *Bindi*, and *Sindoor* (vermilion).

Use flower garlands, betel leaves, dry coconut, and clean, unbroken rice grains.
Keep a brass *Diya* (lamp), cotton wicks, and sesame oil or *Ghee* ready in advance.
Include camphor and *Dhoop-batti* (incense sticks) in the worship materials.

You may also keep items like a comb, mirror, hair ribbon/tie, red bangles, toe rings, perfume, *Mahavar* (red dye for feet), anklets, a necklace, and *Mehendi* (henna).
Keep items for charity according to your means.

Include soil, an earthen pot, and its lid among the essential worship materials.
Keep *Batase* (sugar puffs), fruits, and sweets. Offer *Bhog* (sacred food offering) to the Mother Goddess according to your devotion.
