Sawan Purnima 2026: Shravan Purnima holds special significance in Hinduism. This date is considered highly auspicious and fruitful; it is deemed an excellent time to earn spiritual merit through rituals, holy baths, and acts of charity. Its occurrence during the month of Sawan (Shravan) adds to its importance. While Purnima is generally associated with the worship of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi, the Purnima of Sawan involves performing *Jalabhishek* (ritual bathing with water) for Lord Bholenath (Shiva) alongside the worship of Lord Vishnu. Devotees receive blessings from both Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva; performing specific remedies on this day can fulfill all wishes and garner the special grace of Lord Shiva.

**Worship of Shiva and Parvati on Sawan Purnima**
The month of Sawan is dedicated to Lord Shiva, and every day within it holds special significance. Worshipping Lord Shiva on Sawan Purnima is considered particularly important. According to scriptures, worshipping Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, Lord Ganesha, Lord Kartikeya, and Nandi on this day is highly auspicious. Performing *Rudrabhishek* on the Shiva Linga on Sawan Purnima fulfills all desires, while offering milk to Lord Shiva helps alleviate *Chandra Dosh* (lunar affliction) in one's horoscope.
**Worship of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu**
Sawan Purnima is significant for taking holy dips in sacred rivers; it is also the day Goddess Lakshmi tied a *Rakhi* to King Bali. Pleased by this, King Bali allowed Lord Vishnu—who was present in *Patala Loka* (the netherworld) in the *Vamana* avatar—to return to *Vaikuntha* (the divine abode) with Goddess Lakshmi. Therefore, on Sawan Purnima, one should place a *Rakhi* dedicated to King Bali at the feet of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. This invokes their blessings and brings happiness and prosperity to the home.
**Creating a Swastika with Turmeric**
To welcome Goddess Lakshmi and dispel negative energy on Sawan Purnima, one should create a *Swastika* symbol at the main entrance of the house using a mixture of turmeric and water. Additionally, hanging a *Toran* (festive hanging) made of mango or Ashoka leaves at the main entrance is considered auspicious and conducive to prosperity. By doing this, Goddess Lakshmi will be pleased and ensure there is no shortage of wealth or food grains in your home.
**Listen to the Satyanarayan Katha**
The day of Purnima (full moon) is an auspicious time to worship Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. If your household has been facing financial hardship for a long time or you are not finding success in your business, listening to the Satyanarayan Katha and performing the associated puja on every Purnima will yield special benefits and increase the wealth in your home. Furthermore, any other troubles in your life will also be resolved through the grace of Lord Vishnu.

**Make Donations**
Charity holds great significance in Hinduism. Making donations on this day is considered highly auspicious for enhancing happiness and good fortune. On Sawan Purnima, donate items such as food grains, milk, fruits, and rice.
