Lord Laddu Gopal is worshipped in almost every Hindu household. Devotees regard Him as a family member, specifically in the form of 'Bal Gopal' (the infant Krishna). His birth anniversary is celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country every year on Shri Krishna Janmashtami. People cherish and care for Him in their homes just as they would a small child, treating Him with the same affection and behavior. Nowadays, it is common to see people taking Laddu Gopal along with them to markets, temples, and on other journeys. But is it scripturally correct or incorrect to take Laddu Gopal out to markets and temples in this manner? Let us find out what an astrologer from Kashi has to say on this subject.

Astrologer Swami Kanhaiya Maharaj explained that if a person travels with Laddu Gopal or any other deity's idol, they need to exercise special caution. Generally, however, people should avoid taking the deity out in this way, as one could—knowingly or unknowingly—incur sin. The primary reason for this is that the sanctity and ritual purity of the deity can be compromised during the journey.
**Direct Impact on Laddu Gopal's Sanctity**
He explained that whenever someone touches Laddu Gopal, who is enshrined in the home temple, they first purify their body by bathing. However, when you take the deity out on a journey, you encounter various kinds of people along the way. It often happens that people urinate or consume food while outdoors and then touch Laddu Gopal in that same state—an act that is completely contrary to scriptural injunctions. In such situations, the sanctity of 'Thakur Ji' (the Lord) is directly compromised.

**Body Purification is Mandatory Before Touching**
According to scriptural rules, one must bathe immediately after using the toilet or urinating to purify the body. Only then does one have the right to touch the deity enshrined in the home temple. Furthermore, the scriptures explicitly state that one should avoid touching Laddu Gopal after consuming *Tamasic* food (foods considered to induce lethargy or ignorance, such as meat, onions, or garlic). Since it becomes extremely difficult to adhere to these strict rules while traveling with Laddu Gopal, scriptural experts advise keeping the deity in the home shrine and avoiding taking Him along on unnecessary journeys.
