A Top Tourist Spot in Bihar: The 300-year-old Naldenga House in Simultala, Jamui (Bihar), has now turned into ruins. The location is renowned for its mysterious legends, dense forests, the Dharhara Waterfall, and as a site for film shoots. In June, the place draws crowds comparable to those seen in Shimla or Manali.

Naldenga House in Simultala, Jamui, is a well-known landmark. This palace-like structure, dating back nearly 300 years, was built by the kings of the Naldenga Rajbari in Bangladesh. It is said that the kings used to visit Simultala for recuperation and relaxation, and this grand edifice was constructed specifically for that purpose.

At one time, the palace was celebrated for its grandeur; it reportedly featured 52 rooms and 53 doors. Even today, the sheer scale of the complex allows one to imagine the magnificence and splendor it must have possessed in its heyday. Although the building has since fallen into ruin, its remains continue to captivate history enthusiasts.

Naldenga House is famous not only for its architecture but also for a mysterious legend associated with it. According to local folklore, the king had instructed his guards to open fire if there was no response after he called out three times. One day, while the king had stepped away to relieve himself, the guards—receiving no answer to their calls—mistakenly fired, resulting in his death.

The area surrounding Naldenga House is equally captivating. Roads winding through dense forests, the hilly terrain, and the natural scenery leave travelers spellbound. This is why Simultala is often referred to as the "Mini Shimla" of Bihar; the atmosphere at dawn and dusk rivals that of any hill station.

If you are a nature lover, you can visit the Dharhara Waterfall alongside Naldenga House. This waterfall looks even more beautiful during the monsoon and the post-monsoon season. Additionally, the famous bungalows of Simultala are worth visiting; it is said that many eminent personalities, including Swami Vivekananda, have stayed here.

Reaching Simultala is quite easy. It is directly accessible by road from Jamui, Jhajha, Deoghar, and Patna. The distance from Jasidih to Simultala is 35 kilometers, and the journey can be easily undertaken in a private vehicle. Tourists traveling by train can disembark at Simultala Railway Station, which is located on the Howrah-Delhi main railway line.

This place is also special for film and photography enthusiasts. Due to its natural beauty and serene atmosphere, several Bengali and Hindi films have been shot here. Recently, Bollywood actor Sanjay Mishra visited the area to shoot for a Bengali film.
