First Step to Cleaning Glasses: Before cleaning your glasses, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water. Any oil, cream, or grease on your hands can transfer to the lenses during cleaning, causing blurriness. Therefore, after washing, dry your hands well using a lint-free towel. Hold the glasses by the frame. Avoid touching the lenses repeatedly, as this can leave marks. First, rinse off any dust with water. Instead of rubbing dry lenses directly with a cloth, it is better to gently rinse them under clean, running water first.This removes dust and small particles from the lens surface. The water should not be too hot; plain or lukewarm water is sufficient. This step is especially important if you have just returned from outdoors and your glasses have accumulated a lot of dust. Rubbing a cloth over dry dust can increase the risk of creating fine scratches on the lens surface.

Microfiber Cloth: You usually receive a microfiber cloth along with the case when you buy glasses, but we often forget to use it. When we are out and don't have the case with us, we might wipe the lenses with the clothes we are wearing if they seem a bit blurry; however, this is completely wrong. Always use a microfiber cloth to clean your glasses and keep it with you at all times. Never use the corner of your shirt, a towel, or tissue paper, as their fibers can cause fine scratches on the lenses.

Lens Cleaner: You often get a lens cleaning spray along with your glasses. If your glasses have anti-reflective and UV coatings, using a lens cleaning spray becomes essential. Therefore, if you use your glasses frequently, make sure to apply the cleaning spray to them before leaving the house. Spray it onto the lenses and wipe gently with a microfiber cloth.

Glass Cleaning with Liquid Soap: Fingerprints, dust, and oil often accumulate on eyeglasses. Therefore, a key step—regardless of whether visible dirt is present—is to wash the lenses with clean water and a small amount of mild liquid dish soap once a week. However, do not use a regular towel to dry them; using a clean microfiber cloth is best. If the lenses have oil or grease on them, apply a few drops of lukewarm water and gently rub in a drop of mild dishwashing liquid with your fingers. Then, rinse with clean water and wipe dry with a microfiber cloth.

Pre-moistened Lens Wipes: Use disposable lens wipes containing isopropyl alcohol for quick cleaning while traveling or at the office. They instantly remove dust and fingerprints. Always keep pre-moistened lens wipes in your bag.
