Do you have a habit of eating something savory with your tea? Try these 5 healthy snacks—they won't cause any weight gain..

For us Indians, evening tea is not just a beverage; it is an emotion. We often crave snacks like samosas, pakoras, or savory treats with our evening tea, but consuming deep-fried foods daily isn't healthy. If you want to enjoy your evening tea without any guilt, you can try these healthy Indian snacks.

**Roasted Makhana (Fox Nuts)**
Makhana is packed with nutrients; it is low in calories and rich in fiber. Heat half a teaspoon of *desi ghee* (clarified butter) in a pan, add the makhana, and roast on a low flame for 5–7 minutes. Sprinkle a little salt, black pepper powder, and a dash of *chaat masala* over them before serving.

**Sprouted Moong Chaat**
Sprouts are rich in fiber and protein, providing energy to the body and keeping you feeling full for longer. Lightly steam the sprouted moong beans and mix in finely chopped onion, tomato, green chili, and fresh coriander. Toss with lemon juice, salt to taste, and *chaat masala*, then serve.

**Roasted Chana (Chickpeas) and Peanuts**
Roasted chana and peanuts are excellent sources of protein and fiber. You can easily buy them from the market or roast and store them at home. At tea time, mix the chana and peanuts in a bowl, sprinkle with a little salt and roasted cumin powder, and serve. You can also mix in onions and tomatoes to create a snack similar to *Chana Jor Garam*.

**Masala Oats Chilla**
You can also enjoy a *Masala Oats Chilla* with your evening tea. Grind the oats into a powder and mix in some gram flour (*besan*), yogurt, chopped vegetables, salt, and green chili; add water to create a thick batter. Spread the batter like a *dosa* on a lightly oiled non-stick pan, cook on both sides, and serve.

Roasted Poha Namkeen
Instead of buying store-bought snacks, it is better to make Poha Namkeen at home. Dry-roast the poha (flattened rice) in a pan without oil until it becomes crispy. Next, heat a teaspoon of oil in a separate pan and add mustard seeds, curry leaves, green chilies, and a pinch of turmeric. Finally, add the roasted poha and salt to taste, mix well, and serve with tea.
