One of the most anticipated movies, Bhoot Bangla, marks Akshay Kumar's return to the world of horror-comedy, this time with his hit director, Priyadarshan.

Akshay Kumar has worked with Priyadarshan on classic and hit films like Hera Pheri, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and Garam Masala. Now, after 14 years, he is returning with Priyadarshan for a horror-comedy. The announcement of their film Bhoot Bangla was made two years ago.

When will Bhoot Bangla be released?
Akshay Kumar announced his upcoming film in 2024, and it was initially scheduled for release in April of the same year. However, the release date has now been changed. On the night of January 7, 2025, the makers revealed the new release date through a post.

Announcing the new release date, the makers shared the poster of Bhoot Bangla with the caption, "News has arrived from the bungalow." The film will now be released on May 15, 2026.

Besides Akshay Kumar, the Priyadarshan-directed film will also feature actors like Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jisshu Sengupta, and Rajpal Yadav in important roles. Ekta Kapoor is producing the film. The film's story will revolve around black magic.

Why was Bhoot Bangla's release date postponed?
The makers have not yet revealed why the release date of Bhoot Bangla was postponed, but there are rumors in film circles that this step was taken due to the fear of Dhurandhar 2.  Given the tremendous success of Dhurandhar, there is considerable excitement among people for Dhurandhar 2 (release date March 19, 2026). This excitement might be the reason for the change in Bhoot Bangla's release date. However, Dainik Jagran does not confirm this.
