Indian Test team captain Shubman Gill has said that he has talked to Team India's head coach Gautam Gambhir and BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar. Apart from this, Gill also said that he has learned a lot from Virat Kohli's leadership. The Indian team will play a Test series against England from June 20 under Gill's captaincy. Gill has been made the captain after Rohit Sharma retires from Tests.

Indian captain Shubman Gill said, 'They (Gautam Gambhir and Ajit Agarkar) just want me to express myself as a leader. This is what they have told me, there are no expectations. They are not expecting me to do something that I am not capable of doing. But as a leader and a player, you have some expectations from yourself. So I have the same expectations from myself. '
'Gautam bhai is very determined and very committed'
Gill has experienced Gambhir's coaching style since his Kolkata Knight Riders days in the IPL and is confident of adjusting to him in the national environment. He said, 'Gautam bhai is very determined, very committed. He is also very clear in his communication, what he wants from the players, and what kind of mindset he wants in the players. Gautam bhai focuses more on what kind of attitude or mindset he needs from the team or the players.'
'It is based on a match to match'
Gill's crisis management ability will be tested when he has to decide on the bowling load of key fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah. Chief selector Agarkar had already made it clear that there was very little chance that India would get Bumrah's services in the entire series. Gill said, 'It is based on match to match and it has to be seen how much workload he has. We are trying to focus on this. You need to see how much burden he had in this particular match.'

'We do not want to have a pre-determined mindset'
According to Gill, 'We do not want to have a pre-determined mindset. Because many factors will not be in your favor in deciding whether he will play the next match or not. Gill said about Virat, 'When I played under Virat's leadership, I think his proactiveness with fielding or ideas or his thinking in Test matches was something that I liked and I adopted it. If he feels that this plan is not working then he immediately makes another plan, and tells the bowler what he wants from him.
