It is often seen that a copper pot or vessel is needed to offer water to the Shivling. If this copper pot is donated secretly, special benefits are obtained. Therefore, one should definitely donate a copper pot secretly at a Shiva temple before the new year.

The mat or seat used for worship has special importance in religious rituals. It is observed that many people visit temples every day. They sit there and perform worship. In Hinduism, it is essential to sit on a mat while performing worship. If you secretly donate a mat to a temple, then you will receive some of the virtuous rewards of the worship performed by everyone who sits on that mat. If, despite your best efforts, you haven't achieved success and are experiencing difficulties in life a few days before the new year, then secretly donate matchboxes before the year ends. You can do this by leaving some matchboxes at a temple on a Tuesday. Doing so is said to bring significant benefits.
