Some Baby Names Prohibit: A name is not only an identity but also a medium of respect, understanding, and communication in society. The trend of giving strange and different names to children in Japan has now become a matter of concern for the government. Due to this, the Japanese government has issued a new order and banned the 'Kirakira name' i.e. very different, bright, and difficult to read and understand names.

What is 'Kirakira's name'?
In the Japanese language, 'Kirakira' means bright or extraordinary. In the last few years, parents have started choosing such names for their children which are generally completely different from traditional Japanese names. For example Nike, Pikachu, Pudding, etc. These names may sound attractive, but their pronunciation and meaning are sometimes confusing.
Why did the government bring a new policy on names?
The government says that if it is difficult to understand the pronunciation or meaning of a name by looking at it, then it can be canceled in government records. Officials have now been given the power to decide whether a name is valid or not.
The main objective of this move
To protect children from social ridicule or discrimination.
To maintain clarity in government papers and records.
To prevent confusion in bureaucracy and the education system.
Arguments for opposition and support
People's opinion is divided on this decision. Those who oppose it argue that parents should have the freedom to name their children.
Supporters say that strange and ridiculous names can cause embarrassment and mental distress for children in the future.
