1. Think Before Opening the Door
Strictly instruct your child not to open the door for strangers. If a delivery person or a neighbor comes, tell them to talk through the closed door and say that the parents are not home.

2. Memorize Emergency Numbers
Teach your child to remember 100 (police), 101 (fire brigade), 108 (ambulance), and your mobile number. Also, keep these numbers written down in a diary at home so that the child can call for help immediately if needed.

3. Stay Away from Gas and Electricity
Explain to your child not to use the gas stove, oven, or any electrical appliances alone. If they notice any problem, they should call you immediately.

4. Do Not Go Outside
Teach your child the rule that they should not go outside the house until you return. Whether a friend calls or they feel like playing, safety comes first.

5. Proper Use of Phone and Internet
If your child uses a mobile phone or the internet, tell them not to chat with strangers or share any personal information.

6. Food and Drink Preparation
Inform your child beforehand about what food is in the refrigerator and what they can eat. Keep easy and safe options like fruits, biscuits, or pre-cooked meals available.

7. Stay Calm and Call You
Reassure your child that if any problem arises, they should not panic but call you immediately. Also, let them know that you are always available to help them.
Leaving a child alone may be unavoidable, but with the right guidance and safety rules, this situation can be made safe and manageable. It is important to make the child independent, but with safety as the priority.
