Tradition of Fagua singing in rural areas
There has been a tradition of Fagua singing in rural areas from Basant Panchami to Chaitra Pratipada, which is continuing. On the day of Fagua, people of all classes in the countryside go from house to house in groups and sing Fagua. The tradition of Faag songs related to Sitaram, Radhe Krishna, and Lord Shiva, Bhagwati started.
Later, Devar, Bhaujai, and currently double-meaning songs crossed the limits of vulgarity and strangled the traditional songs. Songs were sung by warriors like Kunwar Singh which left their mark on the public mind.
