In a report published in the British Medical Journal, a team of experts revealed that AI-based chatbots don't provide accurate medical information more than half the time, putting users at risk of unnecessary harm.

The AI's responses were categorized into three categories: no problem, somewhat problematic, or extremely problematic.

It found that more than half of AI responses could lead users to treatments that may not be effective, or that could cause unnecessary harm if adopted without expert advice.
