Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film 'King' has been the talk of the town even before its release. Whether it’s the star cast or the release date, the film has consistently grabbed headlines—and now, a major update has emerged: there has been a significant change regarding the film's music.

It is reported that music composer Anirudh Ravichander has stepped away from the project due to his busy schedule. However, he is not parting ways with the film entirely; he has composed a special theme track for Shah Rukh Khan. Meanwhile, the responsibility for the film's songs and background score will now be handled by the duo Sachin-Jigar.
Why did Anirudh make this decision?
According to reports, Anirudh and the film's makers decided to part ways by mutual consent. Anirudh is currently occupied with several projects in the South, making it difficult for him to dedicate sufficient time to a big-budget film like 'King'.
Furthermore, Shah Rukh Khan and the film's director, Siddharth Anand, are keen for the movie to hit theaters on schedule—this coming Christmas. Given this, the makers decided to make changes to the music team.
Additionally, a significant personal milestone is on the horizon for Anirudh; he is set to marry Kavya Maran, the CEO of Sunrisers Hyderabad, in November.
Anirudh’s touch will remain in the film
Despite his departure from the project, Anirudh’s music will still be a part of 'King'. As a gesture of respect toward Shah Rukh Khan, Anirudh has provided a theme track for the film. Sachin-Jigar will adapt this track and incorporate it into the film's overall background score. In this way, Anirudh’s influence will persist in the film, while the complete music album and score will be crafted by Sachin-Jigar.
'Tu Mil Jaaye' Receives a Mixed Response
Notably, on the occasion of his birthday on November 2, Shah Rukh Khan released the film's first song, 'Tu Mil Jaaye', at midnight. The romantic track features Shah Rukh Khan alongside Deepika Padukone.

The song has been met with a mixed response from the audience. While Arijit Singh’s vocals, the melody, and the chemistry between Shah Rukh and Deepika are being appreciated, some find the music and the overall style quite familiar.
Questions are also being raised regarding the song's visuals, editing, and the styling of the two leads. Additionally, Ed Sheeran’s English rap has become a topic of discussion. Some have even compared the track to songs from Siddharth Anand’s previous films. The song has been composed by the duo Sachin-Jigar.
