In Hinduism, the worship of the various forms of Lord Shri Krishna holds special significance. Images and idols depicting Krishna in different forms are commonly found in home shrines. While some worship Him in His adolescent form playing the flute, other households enshrine the idol of *Bal Gopal* (the infant Krishna). Each form of the Lord is associated with distinct religious beliefs. Let us explore which form of Shri Krishna is considered appropriate for installation in a home shrine and how He should be worshipped.

**Worship of Krishna in Various Forms**

Lord Shri Krishna is worshipped in different forms across various sects and traditions. In many places, the worship of the adolescent Krishna—depicted holding a flute—is customary; often, a cow is also shown alongside the Lord in these idols or paintings.

Additionally, the worship of Shri Krishna’s infant form, known as *Bal Gopal*, is widely popular. When it comes to installing an idol of Shri Krishna at home, the *Laddu Gopal* form is considered especially auspicious. Even householders can worship this form with devotion.

**Serve Laddu Gopal Like a Child**

Once *Bal Gopal* is installed in the home, devotees serve Him just as they would a small child. Treating Him as a family member, they attend to His bathing, clothing, *Bhog* (food offerings), and rest. For this reason, many devotees regard *Laddu Gopal* as a child of the household and even take Him along when traveling.

**Daily Worship is Considered Essential**

If *Laddu Gopal* has been installed in the home, regular worship and service are required. During worship, He is bathed with milk, *Gangajal* (holy water from the Ganges), and *Panchamrit* (a sacred mixture of five ingredients). Afterward, He is dressed in clean clothes, seated on a sacred seat (*Aasan*), and offered incense, *Deep* (lamps), and *Agarbatti* (joss sticks).

After the worship, *Sattvic* food (*Bhog*) should be offered to the Lord. Offering *Makhan* (fresh white butter) to *Bal Gopal* is considered particularly auspicious, as the infant form of Shri Krishna shares a special bond with butter.
