Varuthini Ekadashi Vrat 2026 Today: The Varuthini Ekadashi fast is being observed today; every year, this fast is undertaken on the Ekadashi Tithi (eleventh lunar day) of the *Krishna Paksha* (waning phase of the moon) during the month of *Vaishakh*. According to religious beliefs, observing a fast and performing worship of Lord Hari (*Shri Hari*) with proper rituals on this day infuses an individual's life with happiness, prosperity, and positive energy. In the *Padma Purana*, Varuthini Ekadashi is regarded as a bestower of *Moksha* (salvation), and observing this fast is believed to absolve all sins.

Furthermore, it is customary to worship Lord Hari's fifth incarnation—the *Vamana Avatar*—on this day. This year, auspicious *Yoga* combinations—specifically *Shubha Yoga* and *Shukla Yoga*—are forming on Varuthini Ekadashi, thereby further enhancing the significance of this day. Let us explore the significance, worship rituals, auspicious timings (*Muhurat*), and *Parana* (fast-breaking) schedule for Varuthini Ekadashi...
**Religious Significance of Varuthini Ekadashi**
According to religious scriptures, observing the Varuthini Ekadashi fast leads to the destruction of sins and the accumulation of spiritual merit (*Punya*). This fast is considered particularly significant for those seeking liberation from life's tribulations, obstacles, and misfortune. It is believed that the spiritual efficacy of this fast yields spiritual rewards equivalent to those attained through thousands of years of rigorous penance (*Tapasya*). Moreover, this fast inspires an individual to bring about positive transformations in their life and to walk the path of righteousness (*Dharma*).

Varuthini Ekadashi 2026 Auspicious Yogas
Falling under auspicious planetary alignments (Yogas), this sacred occasion of Varuthini Ekadashi is considered an excellent time for devotees to attain spiritual growth and receive the grace of the Divine. On Varuthini Ekadashi, the *Shubha Yoga* and *Shukla Yoga* are forming. Furthermore, Saturn remains in its rising phase, and a conjunction of the Sun, Mercury, Saturn, and Mars is occurring in the Pisces zodiac sign. This alignment creates several significant planetary combinations—specifically the *Chaturgrahi Yoga* (four-planet conjunction), *Budhaditya Yoga*, *Aditya Mangal Yoga*, and *Trigrahi Yoga* (three-planet conjunction)—thereby significantly enhancing the spiritual significance of this day.
Varuthini Ekadashi Puja Method
– On this day, wake up during the *Brahma Muhurat* (early dawn), complete your morning ablutions and meditation, and wear clean clothes. Holding a few grains of unbroken rice (*Akshat*) and a flower in your hands, take a solemn pledge (*Sankalp*) to observe the fast.
– Install an idol or image of Lord Vishnu at your place of worship and sprinkle holy water (preferably Ganges water) all around the area.
– Offer yellow flowers, Tulsi (Holy Basil) leaves, *Panchamrit* (a sacred concoction of milk, yogurt, honey, ghee, and sugar), and yellow garments to Lord Vishnu. Subsequently, offer sandalwood paste, flowers, incense (*Dhup*), a lighted lamp (*Deep*), and sacred food offerings (*Naivedya*).
– On the day of Ekadashi, it is essential to offer 21 Tulsi leaves to Lord Vishnu; the worship of *Shri Hari* (Lord Vishnu) is considered incomplete without the inclusion of Tulsi.

– Chant the mantra "Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya" 108 times—both in the morning and in the evening—using a rosary made of Tulsi beads.
– Perform the *Aarti* (ritual waving of lamps) of Lord Vishnu using a lamp lit with pure clarified butter (*Desi Ghee*).
– Observe a fast throughout the day; this may be a *Phalahar* fast (subsisting on fruits) or a *Nirjala* fast (abstaining completely from food and water).
– It is considered highly auspicious to engage in *Naam Kirtan* (chanting the holy names of *Shri Hari*) and to keep a night vigil (*Jagran*) during the night.
