UP Weather: Heavy rain alert for these districts today; lightning warning issued for some areas; check the weather forecast..

Amidst changing weather conditions, the Lucknow division and surrounding districts are likely to experience rain accompanied by lightning and winds blowing at speeds of 40 km/h. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for moderate to heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms in several districts, including Lucknow, Raebareli, and Barabanki. Warnings regarding adverse weather have also been issued for other parts of the state. According to the immediate forecast released by the department, light to moderate rain—with heavy downpours in some places—along with lightning and strong winds, is expected across many parts of the state.

There is a strong likelihood of thunderstorms, lightning strikes, sudden gusty winds (30–40 km/h), and moderate to heavy rainfall in the surrounding areas. Rain is also expected in districts across Purvanchal and Central UP, such as Prayagraj, Jaunpur, Pratapgarh, Amethi, Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Ambedkar Nagar, Deoria, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Gonda, and Bahraich.

Additionally, the impact will be felt in the Bundelkhand and central-western regions, specifically in Jalaun, Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, Unnao, Auraiya, Etawah, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etah, Kasganj, Kannauj, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, and Sitapur. Meanwhile, weather conditions will shift in the Rohilkhand and Terai regions—including Shahjahanpur, Lakhimpur Kheri, Badaun, and nearby areas—though the intensity of rainfall is likely to be lower there.

Safety guidelines issued by the Meteorological Department:
Do not stand in open fields, under trees, or near electricity poles during rain and lightning. Be cautious of strong winds; winds blowing at 30–40 km/h can damage mud houses, hoardings, and weak structures. Stay alert and seek shelter in safe buildings.
