In Hinduism, the Tuesdays falling within the month of Jyeshtha hold special religious significance according to the scriptures; these days are known as *Bada Mangal* or *Budhwa Mangal*. This day is dedicated specifically to the worship of Lord Hanuman. The year 2026 is set to be exceptionally special for devotees of Lord Hanuman. This time, a rare and unique celestial alignment is taking place—an occurrence witnessed only once in approximately 19 years. Typically, the month of Jyeshtha features only four or five *Bada Mangals*; however, this year, that number will rise to a total of eight.

According to the renowned astrologer Acharya Anand Bhardwaj of Ujjain, this alignment is the result of a unique confluence of lunar dates (*Tithis*) and specific calculations within the *Panchang* (Hindu almanac)—a phenomenon considered highly auspicious from an astrological perspective. During this period, devotees engage with great enthusiasm in religious activities such as worshipping Lord Hanuman, observing fasts, organizing community feasts (*Bhandaras*), and performing acts of charity and benevolence. It is widely believed that worshipping Lord Hanuman with a sincere heart on the day of *Bada Mangal* alleviates all suffering and ushers in happiness and prosperity in one's life.
**Why is this Rare Alignment Occurring?**
According to the Vedic *Panchang*, the month of Jyeshtha is going to be particularly unique this time around, as it encompasses a full eight *Bada Mangals*. While this count typically stands at four or five, the situation has shifted this year due to the occurrence of an *Adhik Maas* (intercalary month). The month of Jyeshtha will span from May 2nd to June 29th; within this period, the *Adhik Maas* will commence on May 17th and conclude on June 15th. Since this intercalary month falls entirely within the month of Jyeshtha, it is designated as *Jyeshtha Adhik Maas*. This is precisely why, throughout this entire duration, devotees will be granted the opportunity to accrue the spiritual merits associated with observing eight *Bada Mangals*.

**The Meeting of Lord Rama and Lord Hanuman**
Anand Bhardwaj, a renowned astrologer from Ujjain, told Local 18 that people undertake auspicious activities on the Tuesdays falling within the month of *Jyeshtha*. The month of *Jyeshtha* is dedicated specifically to the 'Son of the Wind' (Lord Hanuman), as it was during this very month that Lord Rama and Lord Hanuman met. Furthermore, during this month, one should offer water to the thirsty; drinking water stalls (*Pyaus*) should be set up at various locations. Additionally, acts of charity and philanthropy performed during this month yield immense spiritual rewards, as it is considered the most significant month of the year.
