Free up phone storage without deleting data: For smartphone users, running out of storage is a problem that often arises at the most inconvenient times. While many people resort to deleting cherished memories and important photos, did you know you can free up gigabytes of space without touching a single photo or video? Let’s explore some secret features within the Play Store and WhatsApp that can help clear up your phone's storage...

Clear Play Store history for uninstalled apps: Remove apps you no longer use
We often install dozens of apps on our phones and later uninstall (delete) them. We might think the process is complete, but the Google Play Store retains a history file of their data, which continues to consume phone memory. Here is how to clear it:
First, open the Google Play Store on your phone.
Tap on your profile icon located in the top-right corner.
Select the "Manage apps & device" option.
Now, tap on the "Manage" tab at the top.
Next, tap on the "This device" filter and select "Not installed."
You will see a list of all the apps you have previously downloaded and deleted. Select them all and delete them completely. Doing this will free up a significant amount of space.
WhatsApp manage storage: Remove large files from WhatsApp.
Everything from "Good Morning" images to massive video files received on WhatsApp often consumes a huge chunk of your phone's storage. Use this built-in WhatsApp tool to free up space without deleting entire chat threads:
Open WhatsApp, tap the three dots in the top corner, and go to "Settings."
Tap on the "Storage and data" option.
Select the "Manage storage" option located at the top. Here, WhatsApp will specifically display larger files (those exceeding 5 MB) for you. Navigate to this section, select the files or videos you no longer need, and delete them.
This ensures your important photos remain safe while removing unnecessary clutter.
Google Play Store App Archive: Enable the 'Automatically archive apps' setting
If your phone contains apps you rarely use, you can utilize the 'Auto-archive apps' feature instead of deleting them. This is an excellent new feature from the Google Play Store. It does not completely delete apps that have remained unused for months; instead, it significantly reduces (compresses) their size to save storage space.
Follow these steps to activate it:
Open the Play Store again, go to your profile, and open 'Settings'.
Tap on the 'General' option located at the top.
Scroll down to find the 'Automatically archive apps' toggle switch and turn it 'On'.

Why use these methods?
With the help of these three simple settings, you can free up phone storage without deleting your cherished photos or important videos.
Additionally, your phone's performance will improve, and you will be spared the hassle of constantly dealing with a full storage warning.
