Bollywood star Salman Khan has become embroiled in yet another legal dispute. The Goa Bench of the Bombay High Court has issued notices regarding a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed concerning a housing project linked to him in Candolim, Goa. The petition alleges that residential villas were constructed in violation of Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) norms in an area protected under environmental laws.

**What are the allegations?**
The petition, filed by the Calangute Constituency Forum, questions the legality of the construction. It states that the residential villas and associated amenities were built in an ecologically sensitive coastal zone where construction activities are strictly prohibited.
**How Salman Khan’s name is linked**
According to *Dainik Gomantak*, the petition alleges that 'Classic City Investments Private Limited'—a company associated with Salman Khan—constructed villas and a swimming pool approximately 55 meters from the high-tide line of the Sinquerim River. It is also alleged that the actor is a managing partner of the company involved in the project.
**Construction deviated from the approved plan**
The petition further claims that the construction deviated from the approved building plan.
It also challenges the occupancy certificate issued by the Candolim Gram Panchayat on April 30, 2025, citing irregularities in the approval process.
**Government agencies named as respondents**
Several government agencies have been named as respondents in the petition. These reportedly include the Goa government, the Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority, the Candolim Gram Panchayat, and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, alongside Salman Khan and the company.

**Notices issued to respondents**
The petitioner has asked the court to determine whether environmental regulations were adhered to before the project was approved.
Reports indicate that the Goa Bench of the Bombay High Court has taken cognizance of the petition and issued notices to all respondents, directing them to file their replies. A hearing will be held following the submission of these responses.
